About this campaign
At just over a year old, Lassy should have been discovering the world, not fighting to survive it.
When she was rescued by Baw Baw Animal Welfare, Lassy had been stabbed, and the knife was still lodged in her body. It was a heartbreaking sight, but thanks to the quick actions of her rescuers and veterinary team, she was given a chance that so many injured stray dogs never receive.
After careful examinations, Lassy underwent a lengthy surgery to safely remove the knife and repair the damage. She then spent weeks recovering with medication, follow-up care, and the unwavering support of those determined to save her life. Lassy is doing remarkably well after what she has been through and has not wavered in her strength and tenacity.
Every rescue like Lassy's comes with significant veterinary costs, and Baw Baw Animal Welfare depends on donations to continue saying "yes" to animals in desperate need. When the next emergency arrives, they want to be ready.
Your donation today helps cover the cost Lassy's lifesaving surgeriy, follow-up care, and medication which have given her a second chance at life.
Lassy's story could have ended in tragedy. Instead, it became a story of hope. Please consider making a donation today so Baw Baw Animal Welfare can continue giving vulnerable animals the second chances they deserve.
