Layla came into our lives 3 years ago, when we were looking for a friend for our dog Zoey after we had to euthanize Zoey's best friend. I found her at the Minnesota Humane Society, and fell in love with her

On March 12th 2026, I noticed that Layla was in a great deal of pain, and it seemed to be coming from her left rear leg. I took her to the vet and found she has a torn ligament, and requires surgery which we cannot afford.

Layla loves to be pet, and although she doesn't know how to play with humans she loves to play with our other dog. She also is very sweet and affectionate towards our two cats, even if they don't reciprocate that affection.

My family is still trying to recover from a devastating house fire in September 2024, which is complicated due to me being unemployed since April of 2025.
