Layla is a 5 year old Labrador Retriever in Olathe, KS, who needs $2,500 for Pyometra Surgery.

We rescued Layla when she was 6 months old from someone who was abusing her. When we were asked if we would take her, we didn't even think twice about it, She was a typical 6mth old lab puppy, but we still fell in love with her instantly. We had just lost our black lab 2 months prior to cancer. So she was definitely destined to be part of our family.

Layla has been a healthy dog with the exception of a broken tail when we rescued her. The previous owners were supposed to have her spayed but never did and I could not afford to. She has been diagnosed with pyometra on my birthday and needs emergency surgery or she will die. She will be going in March 10th to Town and Country Equine in Louisburg kansas

After we lost our labs that the kids father gave them before he passed, Layla came out of the blue to us as a rescue. She has been a huge part of the family not only for myself and my children, but also for the extended family. She is the sweetest animal that we have ever owned and never meets a stranger. She has become our emotional support. Layla's favorite thing is to run and play.

We had to suddenly move in January due to health hazards at the apartment that we lived in and that pretty much cleared out any extra money that I had. We love Layla so much and she will die without the surgery. We would be devastated to lose her.
