About this campaign

Layla is a rescue. My son and I adopted her during Covid. Layla is a Chinese Crested and has no fur on her body. She wears lots of adorable clothes to protect her skin. Layla is very sweet & is my emotional support animal. She also helps my son with his anxiety. Layla likes to dance and loves people. She is always on the look out for people to say hello to.

I adopted Layla after I lost my Roxie at 9 years old due to lymphoma. Roxie was also a rescue that was a Chinese crested powder puff. I was not familiar with this breed, but fell in love with their quirky personalities. When I saw Layla’s video at the rescue I went down there immediately to try to adopt her and it was the best decision. She is so loving and loved by my son and myself.

Layla loves to dance & play. She is an emotional support animal and the vet had said she would be a perfect animal to use for the elderly or sick. We also adopted another Chinese crested in 5/2022. His Name is Logan and I let my son get him from someone who liked my son. They get along beau and like to pile-up snuggle together.

Layla fractured her tooth and it got infected with an abscess. The tooth needs to be removed, but she needs a dental surgeon that’s also an anesthesiologist to perform the surgery because she has difficulty under anesthesia. When she was examined he picked up a grade 1 heart murmur that needs evaluation prior to surgery. She’s a happy, playful dog with many more years to live.

I live with my son and he’s disabled. I’m also physically disabled due to serious health issues. I live on a very small income. I normally provide care, but this emergency is costly… so I’m asking for any assistance if possible. We would really appreciate any help.
