Laz is a 3 year old German Shepherd Dog in Webster, NY, who needs $2,000 for Therapy / Post-Surgical Boarding (Goal of Walking).

Laz is a dog I long dreamed of having. He joined two older dog sisters, a sweet little German Shepherd and a bossy pants Husky mix who love him, and wow does he love them. His other great buddy is a senior cat who thinks the world of him too. His human grandma lived here too until her passing in January this year.

On his 3rd b-day Laz seemed off. I got an appt for the next day at the vet. Overnight he lost use of his hind legs. We went to our regular vet ASAP that am and they sent us to Cornell. He has IVDD and had 7.5 hrs of surgery. Recovery at home has been difficult w/reactions to meds causing issues. I'd like Laz to go to Thera-Vet Acres for rehab and give him the best chance to walk and have good QOL.

Laz loves sticks. He has a collection he keeps outside by the door. He learned to "frolic" which is running, bounding enthusiastically because it made me laugh. He loves playing with his dog and cat friends. And he is so incredibly attentive to me I feel like I have a butler! Now I am just hoping he can walk again, a little, and go to the bathroom on his own because he's only 3 and he's my buddy.

This has been a rough year with the loss of my mother, expenses related to her care over the last year/her passing. His surgery I fit into the budget barely. But the difference between him walking and an uncertain future is beyond my means at this time. He can feel his toes!
