About this campaign
I adopted Leah in July of 2022. I was looking for a sibling for my first dog, Beesly, who seemed to be depressed being alone while I was at work. I really wanted her to have a friend. A family friend emailed me looking for a home for Leah. She sounded like a perfect fit. Little did I know, she WAS a perfect fit.
In August of 2022, Leah was diagnosed with adrenocortical carcinoma on her adrenal gland. She was lucky enough to have emergency surgery and chemo. She made a full recovery and remained in remission until November 2024. She was recently diagnosed with a liver mass, hepatocellular carcinoma. Leah needs surgery.
Leah is the definition of perfect. She has never done a single thing wrong in her life - aside from stealing that hotdog from the end table. She has endless love to give to everyone and doesn't hesitate to give you her paw when she wants more scratches.
I have to admit - cancer and chemo is not cheap. Having been through this in 2022, I know the financial burden first hand, over $45,000. Estimates this time around are not nearly as much, but the cost of surgery is still substantial.
