Leela is a 8-year-old pit mix in Phoenix, AZ, who needs $2,000 for mandilectomy.

Leela came to us from the Maricopa County animal control about a year ago. She has gotten along very well with her sister Philly and her two cat friends. She is a super happy dog always! it seems like Leela did not always live inside, as she has terrible teeth from chewing rocks and when she first came to us we had to have three cysts removed.

Leela loves number one food, number to hiking and walks. She only barks when it’s dinner time and she’s too excited to hide it. She does great on her walks and is slow and steady for those big hikes in Arizona desert. She also loves to bury her head in the couch when she gets really excited! She also loves meeting other doggies and new people.

Leela‘s best friend is of course her sister silly and they have a great time playing together and going for walks together. She also likes to rub her butt on the couch when she’s excited for dinner. I think her favorite food is really pizza. Leela also likes to cuddle under a blanket on the couch on lazy Sundays.

Leela was just diagnosed with melanoma on her jaw. she had to have surgery to remove the mass and then just recently had a chest x-ray and a lymph node biopsy which were clear. She now needs a Mandel ectomy to remove where the mass was in her mouth along with some tooth extractions because her teeth were so badly damaged. Her dental doctor is at Arizona Veterinary dental specialist in Peoria AZ.

unfortunately we have already used savings to pay for Leela‘s first surgery and some follow up care, and any help we can receive for this second major surgery would help tremendously.
