About this campaign
Leelu fell into our lives a year ago when our neighbor knocked on our window one day and told us there was a kitten that had been crying in her front yard all night. We found the poor baby hiding under a shrub. She was cold and her meow was scratchy from crying so much. When we scooped her up, she began purring immediately. She knew she was safe and had found her forever home.
Recently Leelu has been having trouble with coordination and balance. Her limbs seem weak and wobbly, and she's restless and unsteady. We took her to the emergency vet and after blood tests and xrays it might be FIP. She needs to see a neurologist for a spinal tap and MRI to decide what treatment should look like. This would be done at Wheatridge Animal Hospital with one of their specialists.
Leelu has always been a little thing. We call her "lil' bit" because of how petite she is. She's our tiny little ray of star shine, our little girl with the big round eyes and tiny squeak of a meow. She'll sit in your lap all day if you let her and take away all your stress. She loves caves, chasing strings and taking naps. She's our little burst of joy and we can't imagine our fife without her.
In fall of last year we both unexpectedly lost our jobs. It took six months to find new work. We are getting back on our feet but are unable to cover the cost of a spinal tap and MRI for little Leelu. It would mean the world to us to give her a fighting chance.
