Leena Mae is a 3-year-old Border Collie mix in Truckee, CA, who needs $2,000 for CHOP Chemotherapy Protocol.

Leena Mae was rescued in the fall of 2019 from the Humane Society when she was just 7 weeks old. She had been found in a box, in a field in Ely, Nevada with her sister. She was 8 lbs and a bundle of energy and joy. We rescued her when we were having a hard time getting pregnant. To ease the stress, we brought a puppy into the house and within 2 months, we found out we were going to have a son!

Leena lives at home with her mama, papa and her number one fan, Grayson (age 2). Grayson has a rare endocrine disease and is in and out of doctors offices and hospitals on the regular. Leena provides him with love, laughter and comfort. Leena is a certified therapy dog and goes to school daily with Marisa, who is a 2nd grade teacher. There she provides support for students and staff of all ages.

Leena's nickname is the "Mayor of Truckee (our town name)." She is the friendliest, most outgoing soul I have ever known. She loves to greet and adore anyone from any background or place. She makes it her duty. Leena is incredibly sweet, calm and tolerant of all people and animals. She is an old soul for certain. Leena Mae is an exceptional swimmer, hiker and loves all things nature related.

Leena Mae has been diagnosed with high grade renal lymphoma. This has come to a shock to us as she is only 3 years of age. Her symptoms started with her not eating, acting lethargic and having a sick tummy. Since early July, Leena has been under the care of Oncologists at UC Davis Vet Teaching Hospital in Davis, CA. She will need a total of 26 weeks of CHOP protocol (chemo).

Between our son's medical care expenses & his daycare cost, our budget is strained. We barely afford groceries & gas with these costs. We have pet insurance but the max amount they pay for chemo is $2400, which we already surpassed. Without chemo, Leena will not survive.
