Leia is a 13 year old Mix-Breed in Hopewell, VA, who needs $300 for Preventative Care/Wellness Check.

This is my little angel, Leia. She has been in my life for going on 14 years. She has been by my side through divorce, a few bad relationships, 5 moves, and a lot of tears. She’s been my rock to keep me going every day. I adopted her at Colonial Heights Animal Shelter. She was the weirdo sleeping in her litter box and I knew from that moment she was going to change my life.

Leia has been very small her entire life. I believe she was the runt of her litter because although she’s always eaten healthy, she never grew much in size. As of 2 weeks ago she was playful and not once showed her age. People don’t believe me when I say how old she is. She recently started declining fast. Started with a UTI and she hasn’t been the same since. My thoughts point to dementia ..

Leia is a scardy cat. She’s afraid of everything from vacuums to plastic bags. She has been mommy’s girl her whole life. I’ve never had an animal love me and look at me the way she does. Our bond is untouchable. She loves me unconditionally and I can’t imagine her not being in my life. I know the day will eventually come but I can’t accept why she deteriorated so fast on me out of nowhere.

I am in between jobs right now. If I could spend every penny on her I would. I sit with her every day to keep an eye on her. She’s not using the litter box anymore so it’s a constant battle. If I could get her help it would ease my mind and help me get back on my feet.
