Leia Isham is a 10-year-old Dachshund in Jacksonville , AR, who needs $2,000 for Amputation and Chemo.

She started out as a foster baby and instantly became our baby. We have had her 10 years. We named her Leia after Princess Leia. She loves to be outside and go on walks. We have a rabbit, goat and 4 more dogs. She is the spoiled baby girl though. She sleeps in bed with us and has to be with someone at all times. When her uncle calls and says, "I'm going to get that tail", she starts barking.

She is everyone's baby. Family from all over have been calling to check.on her. She loves to give kisses and is a cuddle bag. She's our daughter, our baby girl. She runs to greet everyone when they come over. One of her uncles can call and get her to barking. She loves her one aunt with red hair.They are both red headed so we call them the gingers.

She is special just being her. When she runs her back legs hop more than run. When she barks (talks) her had jerks. It is so precious. I have friends that ask about her every time I see them. She loves having her nails painted. She likes to wear Dresses. She is definitely a princess and she knows it. Just seeing her sweet face puts a smile on our face.

We noticed her shoulder looked like it was out of socket. The urgent care vet said it was likely cancer. We went to her regular vet that Monday who also believed it is Osteosarcoma. A surgeon there didn’t want to do the amputation surgery. We took her to a doctor who specializes in these surgeries. He believes he can get all of her cancer. It is growing fast and we may run out of time he said.

We maxed out our Care credit trying to figure this all out and help her. $2000. She is my daughter. I have no children of my own. I can't stand to hear her cry in pain and I just want her to be okay. To not be in pain anymore. Right after found out my car got hit by deer.
