Leia is a 5-year-old Doberman in Redding , CA, who needs $1,500 for Cruciate Leg Repair TTC.

Leia was our sons dog he got her at 9 weeks old. Our son was pursuing a job in law enforcement and had to move to another state, he wasn’t able to find housing for his family because he had his dog Leia and she’s a Doberman, even though a sweet girl no one would except her. She has been with us since. We have two Labs that are 7 years old and six rescue cats from all over our neighborhood.

Leia has fit well into our home and is part of the pack with our labs and six rescue cats.they all sleep on the couches and also in my bed for naps. she loves walks, the lake and loves her ball and chew toys. She also loves to heard the other animals like the new kitty he’s into everything that’s Rascal he can’t help himself. She try’s to keep him in order and out of trouble.

Her favorite new friend is Rascal, she plays with him and keeps him out of trouble. He’s a 9 month old neighborhood rescue cat. They chase each other around the house and sleep together. She loves to be petted and groomed. She loves to take a bath. She loves the snow but not the rain. She loves her treats.

Leia started limping in mid December and before this she’s been perfectly healthy. She’s a very active dog and loves to run and jump. I’m looking to get her torn ACL injury fixed so she can get back to normal and live with all 4 legs pain free and live happy again.

I lost my job to a knee surgery myself in June of 2021. I’ve since recovered but still looking for work. This was an unexpected expense. I’m not able to cover the full cost.
It would mean the world to me to get her surgery so she can sustain quality of life.
