About this campaign
My Leia came into my life 8 weeks after she was born. She is now 5 1/2 years old. I adopted her and her brother from a couple. She is full of energy, happy, fun! She is also very protective of me or whomever is taking care of her. We came up with their names because of Star Wars…Luke and Leia since they are brother and sister
Leia is the most loving and loyal dog. She is full of energy and like to run and play. But she always keeps an eye on me to make sure I’m safe and will come by me if she doesn’t recognize someone that might be beside me, to make sure I’m ok. She does that with everyone that’s taking care of her at the time. She always waits for her brother by the door when it is playtime outside.
Unfortunately this is an unexpected expense for us. As I just moved my daughter to another city to start nursing school. Also our other dog Luke is having surgery due to obstruction. So it’s a big expense on top of another.
Leia was at daycare when her injury occurred she was jumping around and running with her brother when she may have stepped incorrectly and tore her ACL. She will need surgery to correct that. She is currently on bed rest and anti inflammatory medication to help with any swelling and pain before she gets the surgery
Leia has a special bond with her brother, they will sleep in the same bed. But sometimes I see they don’t get along and she sleeps somewhere else. She likes to be under the bed. They have been with each other every step of the moment so if they separate, by one being outside or in another room, they are eager to find one another.
