About this campaign
Leo was a rescue from our neighborhood. He just showed up at a neighbors house and she listed him for adoption after no one claimed him for several months. He fell in love with us and we fell in love with him. He is very people oriented and prefers to always be with some human unlike most cats. Laying right on top of you is his favorite position.
He is a huge pet of our life and our Dog Lacie’s life . They are best friends. Leo always thinks Lacie’s food is better and tries to sneak a bite in sometimes. Leo is super smart and knows how to open cabinets and doors. He loves running up and down the stairs to show Lacie how fast he is. Leo is a big cat. He weighs in about 25 pounds so when he jumps off the counter he makes a thud.
I am currently unemployed due to COVID. My daughter Sarah and I are just trying to make ends meet right now. We are putting up everything we have in savings to save Leo.
Leo is at Creekside Pet Care in Keller, TX. He has a urinary blockage which is a common issue with Maine Coon male cats. He is undergoing surgery and requires a hospital stay to make sure the blockage clears. Dr. Karen Fischer is his vet. She is awesome as are all the vets at Creekside. We drive quite a way because we think they are so special!
Leo is the protector of the yard and garden. He keeps squirrels and snakes out of the garden. He has his own patch of cat nip he sometimes shares with the neighborhood cats. The birds and squirrels talk trash about him but he just tells them they are jealous as he admires himself in the garden mirrors.
