Leo (born Jan 31, 2020) is our 95lb tri‑color gentle giant; a mix of pitbull, mastiff, bulldog, husky, and rottweiler. We adopted him in July 2020 after he was found as a stray in Southern Illinois, driving nine hours each way to bring him home. Now in Honolulu with our two cats, he’s our shadow, protector, and the heartbeat of our home.

Over Labor Day weekend, Leo injured his left hind leg and now won’t put any weight on it. Kaimuki Veterinary Urgent Care diagnosed a CCL tear and has referred us for TPLO surgery. He’s on pain meds and strict rest, but surgery is urgent to restore his mobility, prevent arthritis, and let him enjoy his playful, joyful life again.

Leo is loved by everyone who meets him. He loves tug of war, chase, car rides, cuddles, and pup cups. He sleeps with us every night and greets guests with a tail thump and slobbery grin. Gentle with Poncho and Marley, he checks on each of us when we’re down and is the joyful center of every gathering.
