No dog should have to navigate the world in complete darkness. This sweet little Poodle named Leon, estimated to be just 3 to 4 years old, was found wandering aimlessly in the scorching heat with no one looking for him. Confused, exhausted, and unable to see where he was going, he was simply trying to survive.
A kindhearted person stopped to help and brought him to the veterinarian, where CAMO rescue learned the heartbreaking truth. One of his eyes was completely missing, and the other was severely infected. Tragically, he is blind in that eye as well. Judging by his condition, it's clear he has been neglected for a very long time.
Despite everything he's endured, this gentle little boy has shown nothing but trust. Now it's our turn to show him that life can be kind.
He'll need ongoing veterinary care, treatment for his painful eye infection, diagnostics, and the support he'll need to adjust to life as a blind dog. CAMO rescue needs your help to give him the future he deserves—a future filled with safety, comfort, and love instead of fear and neglect.

🐾 Leon Update ❤️
Leon came to us in desperate need of medical care. When he was found, this poor boy was already missing one eye, and his remaining eye was badly infected. He needed immediate veterinary attention to get the infection under control and make sure he was comfortable and no longer suffering.
On top of his eye issues, Leon also needed to be fully vetted after coming into rescue. He finally had the opportunity to receive the medical care and attention he had clearly been missing.
Despite everything Leon has been through, he continues to show just how resilient he is. Losing an eye and having problems with his remaining eye certainly presents challenges, but Leon is learning to navigate life in his own way and getting the love and support he needs along the way.
For now, we are continuing to make sure Leon is comfortable, cared for, and given plenty of time to recover. His journey may look a little different from other dogs, but he deserves the same chance at a happy and safe life.

Samo is doing amazing with his blindness. He navigates well and has learned the layone of his foters home. He has learned the fine art of sleeping on the sofa and playing with his new buddies. He's learning to play with toys. Samo is a testament to the ability for dogs to overcome great adversity.
He is available for adoption with Camo Rescue.
