About this campaign

Lexi J was given to me to help keep me and my senior dog; a mini poodle company. She and her brother have become inseparable. Their crates, dog beds, and food bowls are side by side. She is crated during the day and late-night because I don't want her to get into trouble. Gates are in place to stop her from going into any room where she can get in trouble also.

Lexi is definitely my little girl. She gets mail and Facetime calls from the family; my sons, her auntie, uncle, and grandma. She loves her family and has a different way to greet each one. She has brought so much joy and happiness to my home. Everyone jokes that if I had a human daughter she would be a spunky as Lexi. I have RA and fibromyalg and she keeps a smile on my face and keep going.

My household went from 3 incomes to 1; just mine. Both sons were laid off. They are in the Virginia system to receive unemployment but haven't received anything yet. I suffer from RA and fibromyalgia;.Having Lexi healthy means the world to me. Cry because she can walk.

April the 2nd I took Lexi to her vet because she was walking oddly, very wobbly, & yelped when I went to pick her up. The vet said she has a mild case of hip or leg injury & sent her home with meds and told me to keep her still for 4 weeks She got better. May 20th she couldn't stand and screamed in pain. They said she needs an MRI & possibly surgery. She is confined to her crate & on medication.

Lexi is special because she makes my 2nd-grade students talk more. Even though we are virtual she can sit beside me and listen to them read every word on a page. She gives them perfect eye contact to let them know she is their biggest cheerleader. She also loves Old- School music and will move her head to the beat.
