About this campaign

Lexie was a sweet little kitten left under the Christmas tree when I was nine. She's been my attention loving, lap cuddling, high maintenance baby for thirteen years. Lexie is a part of my family. During my teenage years I was never home alone when my human family was out, Lexie was always there with me.

Lexie loves to sleep in the bed by my head, she curls up right next to my pillow and purrs herself to sleep. Her favorite person in my family is whoever gives her attention and food. She loves our family but isn't too keen on strangers. When we have guests in the house she is usually nowhere to be seen.

I received my undergraduate degree in May and start grad school in January. I am working to support myself and gain experience in the medical field while I work on my master's degree. I pay my monthly bills and cost of living expenses, along with numerous medical bills.

Recently Lexie started losing a little weight, being pickier than usual about food, and meowing incessantly sometimes. The day before Thanksgiving she quit eating completely. She also quit sleeping at the head of the bed at night and hiding under the bed most if the time. On Saturday I took her to Two Notch Animal Hospital and was told that she was severely dehydrated and down 3.5 pounds.

We all know that most cats don't play fetch but Lexie likes to play around the house. Over the years she's had just about every cat toy possible. She likes toys 'infused' with cat nip and batting around jingle balls. One of my favorite things to do is play with her and the laser light. She'll Chase the red dot around in circles and up walls.
