Lexie is a 11-year-old Australian Cattle Dog in Evans, GA, who needs $2,000 for TLPO Surgery.

Lexie came to our lives as a 6 old month puppy that needed a home. She quickly became a new member of the family and bonded with everyone very quickly. She's also my daughter's emotional support animal.

Lexie was a very athletic dog during her young years and loved to catch the Frisbee and the ball as well as going for long walks around the neighborhood. She's a well traveled dog since we moved a lot during my military time and she even had the chance to swim in both the Pacific and Atlantic coasts.

Lexie is a very smart dog that learned all the family routines. That always surprised us and brought a smile to our faces. She used to love chasing squirrels in our backyard and even managed to catch one at one point. Surprisingly, she didn't hurt the little critter and just held it in place so she could sniff it. She also jumped in a pond chasing a bird, so she has a lot of character.

Right before new years eve, Lexie tripped on the curb in front of our house. Immediately after, her right hind leg went limp and she couldn't put any weight on it. I had to carry her back to the house and she's been struggling to walk for a few days. After a visit to the vet, they informed us that she has a full ACL tear that will need surgery.

Currently transitioning out of the military and looking for a job, so paying for the surgery will be difficult. We do not have any family members close by since we moved a lot during my military time and don't live close to home either.
