Lexie is a 6 month old White English Bulldog in Johnston, RI, who needs $2,000 for Antibiotics, Nutritional Support, Fluid Therapy.

My mom bought Lexie from a family friend who is a breeder. She was a late Christmas present. We live with my parents as I am only 19 and in college. She has been healthy since the day we got her. She never even threw up before she got sick.

Lexie is currently being treated at Ocean State Veterinary Specialists. She has been diagnosed with Leptospirosis which can be fatal. Her kidney levels were low and her liver levels were high. We were told she would only need to stay for 3 nights but they have told us that she probably needs to stay longer. We were also told that we had to take our other 2 dogs because the disease is contagious.

Lexie came into our lives 2 months before my 11-year-old Yorkie passed. She has helped us heal our hearts and is attentive to our emotions. She knows when we're sad and cuddles when we need it. This is not to say that she isn't a playful puppy. She loves her toys, cleans up the mess she makes, and puts them back in the toy bin. She is a light in our dark life.

This is a huge expense to us. We are a family of 9 and have our 2 older dogs. My younger siblings are in sports all year round and that gets expensive. We also provide for my paralyzed uncle. We are busy and don't have the funds to pay for more than 3 nights.
