About this campaign
Libby was a stray dog living in a wooded area. I started putting out a bowl of food and water for her every night. After about a month, she finally trusted me enough to let me briefly pet her on the head. After another two weeks, she let me put a collar and leash on her. This was about 10 years ago. She now lives with me in a home where I rent a room.
My roommate has two dogs and a cat. Libby gets along with with all of them. I had never had her around cats before moving into this home which belongs to my roommate. Fortunately, all turned out well and the animals all get along great. Libby spends most of her day napping or enjoying being with these other pets while I am away at work.
I have been working two jobs since 2008. The employer at my second job was closed for months following the COVID-19 scare and only recently reopened. I don't have money saved to easily cover expenses such as these for my dog. She needs a diagnosis and treatment.
My dog has arthritis and a couple of herniated discs in her back and is on daily pain medication. Her current medical issue is that she has a great deal of blood in her urine. Her veterinarian at Eastex Veterinary Clinic in Humble, Texas did bloodwork and an x-ray which showed no abnormalities. She has recommended Libby have an ultrasound of her bladder and has urine drawn for testing.
Libby is such a sweet and loving dog. She rarely barks, but she enjoyed barking at the cows that lived in the field across from the last place I lived, in a small house out in the country. From time to time, she will grab one of her favorite dog treats, a Nylabone, and chew and chew like there is no tomorrow.
