Lilith and I have come a long way together and we're not done by any means. I was only supposed to dogsit for a month or two. A couple years later there was no way I was going to let her go. I still can't, I refuse.

I noticed Lilith had swollen joints when she went after two doe a couple months ago. She had to have ran until she dropped. She was gone for over six hours and I thought she pushed herself too hard. She has shown excessive panting, pale gums and lameness the past month. I'm almost sure she has a tick-borne illness. I have never seen her this depressed and down. I want to take her to Medvet Akron.

Lilith is different. She marches to the beat of her own drum. She is brave and has protected me when she didn't have to. Sometimes I almost think she knows what I'll do before I do it. She was homeless with me and did exactly what she needed to do. She watched over me. She kept me moving forward. Lilith is a Panda Shepherd which adds to her mystique. This is one special dog. My partner in crime.

This past year has been the hardest year of our lives. One bad thing after another. Some my doing, some just the universe testing our strength, I guess. I need her. I truly need this beautiful girl. Without her, I'm finished. I know I'm supposed to see her live a full life.
