About this campaign
Mike F. vividly remembers the moment he got the call and learned Lilly's liver cancer returned. "I was at work, and I had to leave. For an hour, I was just crying my brains out. I got home and kept crying," he tells Waggle. "I really can't explain it. She's not a dog; she's part of my family and part of my life."
> Lilly had liver cancer one year ago, and the tumor was removed with surgery. So, to have it strike again in 2020, an already gloomy and depressing year, was devastating. Lilly's oncologist, Mathew Sherger from BluePearl Pet Hospital, suggested a cutting-edge treatment: FidoCure ®.
FidoCure ® performs DNA sequencing on the specimen and decodes the genetic landscape of the tumor. Scientists look to see what genes changed and what might be driving the cancerous growth. FidoCure ® then works with a dog's oncologist and recommends potential oral therapeutic options.
This reoccurrence is hitting at a terrible time money-wise. Mike spent thousands of dollars on Lilly's first round of cancer, and his family is now struggling to pay for home healthcare aides to assist his mother-in-law, who recently became paralyzed.
Mike says he would be so thankful for any donations to help rescue his rescued pooch and best friend, Lilly. "There are so many bad things going on in the world, and she's a consistent point of happiness."
