About this campaign
My daughter and I decided to get another pup after unexpectedly losing our 9 year old lab Belle last summer to rare blood disorder. We also have a 7 year old yellow lab, Emma that was also incredibly sad to lose her pup sister and we felt it was time to bring a new pup into our home. We brought Lily home at 11 weeks old and had her for just over a week before becoming sick.
Lily's personality has really just started to emerge in the past two weeks. She was very happy and playful like a typical pup when we fist brought her home at 11 weeks. But she became so critically ill so quickly and really was unable to move or walk for a few weeks. But our older pup Emma really took to her during that time, and has developed a real affection and concern for her,
As a divorced mom with two children, one of whom has autism, this has been a financially devastating diagnosis for our family. We love Lily and want to see her get well. We would be grateful for any help to get her this surgery so she can live a full and complete life. ❤️
Lily has been diagnosed with a portosystemic shunt which will require surgery to repair. She has already incurred thousands in medical costs in the 4 weeks since we have had her and the surgery will cost at a minimum another $5000-$6000. We are consulting with Dr. Phipps at Pieper Memorial Medical Center in Middletown, CT.
Lily is adorable! Now that she is feeling better, we can see her real personality and she is a happy, goofy, playful little nugget! And she is funny! She does the spins every time we go to feed her and will sometime spin and sit right into her water bowl! She is a sweet girl and such a little pupper and we really want to see her have a chance at a full and wonderful life.
