About this campaign
My pet cat's name is Lily. My brother took in her mom as a stray outside when it was really cold. He then realized she was pregnant. I took Lily as she was one of the kittens. She has been with me for seven years. Lily also has two dog siblings in our household whom she loves very much. Lily was the only girl in the litter so we named her after her mom Lilian.
Lily is truly the sweetest cat. She is very longing with all the family members but I am the one she hangs out with the most. She finds me as soon as I get home from work. She follows me around the house and loves playing with feathers. Every night she sleeps by my head and snuggles on my pillow. She is just a very loving cat.
I am on a major fixed income. I just graduated with my bachelor's degree and I have student loans that I will need to start paying. I do not want to see Lily die. It's hard enough to know she will be have to lose her eye. I need help.
Earlier this year, Lily went in for a checkup. Our veterinarian told me that Lily has a speck on her eye that seemed suspicious. She wanted me to take her to an animal ophthalmologist. I got a second opinion and she has a melanoma on her eye. The surgery is $2,800 to get just the melanoma removed or $900 to remove the whole eye. If I don't get it removed the cancer can spread and Lily could die.
Lily meows really loud when she wants you to pet her. She loves her little bed that is right under my desk and she really enjoys looking out the window. She likes to chirp and stare at the birds outside and chase flies if we get any in the house. I am always amazed at how loyal she is and affectionate as well.
