Little Gracie is a two-year old mixed breed female. She was rescued from extremely bad living conditions. She was tested and test results determined that she had heartworms and also had lungworms. In addition, she had Demodex mane, hair loss and sore feet. She became very ill and began peeing blood. We immediately took her to our partner veterinarian to determine the cause.

She is a very sweet lady and deserves the best medical care possible. She was not socialized as a puppy and has some neurological symptoms that will likely be for life. They have improved a bit with better food, care and socialization. We discovered she had distemper as a puppy and now her balance is sometimes unstable but manageable. The new adopter will need to be aware of her experiences.

Little Gracie is a ball of energy. Her neurological problems don’t slow her down. She loves to drag her blankets outside and lay on them in the sun. She loves visiting the other dogs and playing with them. Gracie is always smiling and is happy to see you, even though her neurological problems make it to where she’s not quite sure how to get to you. She loves treats and will beg everyone for them.

Our veterinarians have performed several tests to determine why she is still having bloody urine. They have been unable to determine the cause. They recommend exploratory surgery where they will inspect her bladder and other internal organs to find the cause of the continuous bleeding. Her surgery is scheduled soon and we are confident they will find and fix the issue.

We are requesting funding for Little Gracie at this time as she is most extreme case we have had in over a year. These costs are much higher than the average that we have budgeted. With your help, we can continue to assist other animals as emergencies arise.
