About this campaign
I adopted Lizzie last year in 2023 after moving to a more secure living situation. I originally wasn’t sure if I should get a pet, but, I was talked into it, adopting her as a sort of unofficial support animal. Now, a year later she is my best friend and I couldn’t imagine life without Lizzie. She and I have been through a lot and after bringing in my Fiancées cat, Sam, they too are inseparable.
Lizzie often likes to nap in the window bed, often time with Sam as well! Other than that, she will often come over to where I’m sitting, and scratch at my chest when she wants pets. Her favorite activity is often chasing a laser or fluff on a stick. Though, often times she just enjoys sitting with me while I watch TV or play video games before bed.
Lizzie is definitely a talker! Our first night together she wouldn’t let me sleep, haha, but I love it. She always tells me when something’s wrong, even when she doesn’t say anything to get it across. When we play she likes to trill at me when I’m playing with her just right, and she often mewls for snacks. Sometimes it really feels like she really understands what you’re saying. Reacting to you
Lizzie had an obstruction in her stomach. She got a little piece of a broken toy in her stomach that had started traveling to her intestines. She’s currently recovering from surgery at Midtown Vet Hospital here in Huntsville, and already feeling much better.
This unexpected vet visit hits especially hard. I recently went though a cancer scare after receiving stomach surgery myself, and after three rounds of surgery, thankfully it wasn’t anything. But this cost comes with so many other medical costs, it’s a little overwhelming
