Loki is a 6 year old Mix-Breed in Baltimore, MD, who needs $2,000 for ACL Right Repair.

I saw Loki's picture on the SPCA website. He was in the shelter in DC but was scheduled to be transferred to Baltimore City. I was excited to see him when he arrived and checked the website for updates. My daughter and I went to see him when he arrived. It did not take long for us to both be smitten. I adopted him at 8 months old. His head was bigger than his body.

The staff was so so excited to see Loki adopted. They thought it was adorable that he had this very large overbite. I thought oh that is adorable. Later on you realize this is not a cute thing but very problematic. So we love Loki although he has constant drool leaking from his mouth....when he shakes his head/body drool is released and goes everywhere. Its gross we know but we just wipe it.

We like the name Loki and decided it did not need top be changed. I had no idea that he would top out at 110 lbs. The vet immediately scolded me...lol and put me on a food plan for Loki. He is now weighing in at 100lbs. Loki has much anxiety. Walks backwards into rooms, is terrified of the hardwood floors at home now covered with rugs everywhere. I had not anticipated what a significant injury might cause. Loki has injured his ACL and requires surgery to fix. I work part time and rely on SSI with no current emergency fund. I know that there is no question about what to do, but difficult to think about how to do.
