About this campaign
We were searching LancasterPuppies.com and saw Loki for sale, he was the runt of the litter and the only puppy left. So we contacted the person on the ad about picking him up asap. We drove from central Jersey to Delaware the very next day to pick up the new member of our family.
We are a small family, one 2 legged child and already one 4 legged fur baby. We already had an older dog, named Bane.
Our veterinarian checked out Loki, she said all was good, he was a healthy puppy. He was neutered and vaccinated within 2 months of bringing him home. I noticed something was wrong with his rear legs, still the vet said she didn’t feel or see anything wrong, but I just knew something was wrong. So I had the vet take x-rays of his hind legs, she came back with the worst news possible, Hip Dysplasia
Our other dog, Bane, was my best friend, he was by my side almost 24hrs a day. Bane passed on 5/22/23 a few days after Loki’s 1st birthday (5/19). I lost a part of my heart that day, Loki lost his brother. I am still grieving over losing Bane, I don’t think I could handle losing Loki too. Loki is something special, he’s goofy, sweet, and silly. We are each others support buddies, always together.
Loki has severe hip dysplasia, he needs total hip replacements for both hips. Due to being a large breed, it’s putting strain on his spine and knees. The estimated cost of the surgeries is over $24,000. That is not financially feasible for our family at this time.
