About this campaign
One morning there was a strange unknown 11 month male kitten just relaxing inside with all our many other cats & dogs. He had recently clipped, scabbing ear indicating he was recently neutered locally and released. I posted his pic and a woman call to say she rescued & neutered a kitten from a power plant but it ran from its adoptive home. One night he got his leg stuck in a wooden slated fence.
Taken quickly to VCA Valley Oak Vet, the Dr told us the ligaments, muscles and tendons had been seriously stripped from his bone & tissues. He couldn't keep his leg. It would need to be amputated. A young kitten could survive on 3 legs, but its risky being a stray and handicapped.
Loki somehow made it to our home, made friends with our dogs and other rescued cats, then was saved by a kind neighbor as he hung upsided down for hours trapped & struggling with his leg between slats on a fence and even though a stray cat from a power plant, it loves to cuddle on your lap and watch tv. All his siblings perished in the rural area- But he made it! He wanted to be part of a group.
We hadn't adopted this cat, we were finding his forever home when this accident happened. We didn't have the money, but no choice- It was an emergency. We had to get the surgery he needed whether he was ours or not. Too many abandoned cats out there. He needed a chance.
