About this campaign

I adopted Loki 6 years ago, when he was 1 year old, after he had been passed around by 3 other families. He's my best friend and we do everything together. We live together in a one-room cabin and go on 1-2 hour walks every day after I finish work, usually walking 3-6 miles.

A few weeks ago, he started collapsing during our walks and at home. He stopped having bowel movements and began vomiting, rapidly declining over a short period. He receives routine care at Gualala Vet Clinic and I took him to the Vet Emergency Group in Larkspur. He had blood work, an x-ray which showed he may have an obstruction which requires surgery. I could not afford additional treatment.

He is such a special creature; he loves all people and animals, and enjoys our long daily romps, our playtime at home, and snuggles in the morning and evening.

Last Fall, my sister almost passed away and I took leave to try to take care of her. Lost a month of pay and have not recovered. I work full time but am low-income. For the past 6 years, I have been able to pay 100% of his care costs, but I am currently unable and desperate.
