About this campaign
Loki joined us at 8 weeks old and quickly became our world. We named him Loki for the mischievous sparkle in his eyes—and he still lives up to his name. After 9 years in Las Vegas, we moved to Oregon when he was diagnosed with PRA, hoping he could enjoy all of nature before losing his vision - Later came glaucoma. Now 13, blind, and in pain, he remains our sweet corgi mix and our emotional anchor.
Loki needs bilateral enucleation surgery, performed at Animal Care Clinic, to end the severe pain caused by progressive retinal atrophy, advanced glaucoma, and lens luxation in his right eye. His eye pressure is 47 mmHg, and with vision gone, drops no longer help. This surgery is critical to end his suffering and give him comfort, a better quality of life, and peace in his remaining years.
Loki is our sweet boy who brings a toy to bed every night, loves walks, squeaky toys, sunbathing, blueberries, cucumbers, and shredding cardboard while mom puts away sparkling water cans. Though blind, he bravely navigates our home and still greets us with tail wags and snuggles. He’s our joy, our comfort, our heart—our family and source of strength through life’s hardest times.
With rising costs and no increase in income, we’re living paycheck to paycheck. This unexpected procedure is beyond our means. We don’t usually ask for help, but Loki is our world, and we want to give him the comfort and care he deserves in his final years.
