About this campaign
Lottie was living in a home with two dogs and three other cats. She is scared of dogs and one of the cats would constantly terrorize her. This wasn't an ideal situation for her so I was able to bring her into my own home. Now she isn't going to the bathroom on the floor, she isn't too timid to leave the bedroom, and she can wander around the home without fear of being attacked.
It's a quiet and relaxed environment in the home. Lottie will sleep tucked into my side until it's time to get up for the day. She enjoys watching me when I cook meals. She also likes to slam the bathroom door open when I'm trying to take a shower. Her favorite toy is a cat wand, and we could play with that for an hour easily.
One thing that always cracks a smile for me is when I'll be at my desk and suddenly there's a tap on my arm. I'll look over to find her looking back at me and she'll meow as a way to tell me that she wants some attention. It's very polite of her. That is until I don't pet her enough, then she'll yell at me until she's satisfied.
Unfortunately, Lottie has what is called gingivostomatitis. It is a debilitating condition that can be difficult to treat, and her situation is severe. A vet at Anne Arundel Veterinary Hospital has concluded that the best course of action is surgically removing all of her teeth. It sounds severe, especially for a kitten her age, but it would mean giving her a better quality of life.
I am disabled and currently relying on SSI to get by from month to month. I don't leave the house often, so Lottie is my only companion. My depression can be worse depending on the day, and she will be the reason I can pull myself out of bed.
