About this campaign

Lottie has lived with me since adoption from Dakin Animal Shelter in 2013. His name started as “Baby" then at the shelter "Bobby"-I called him “Laddie,” which became Lottie. His family includes my husband, Joe, our 9yr-old daughter, Eloise, his adopted cat brother, Marty, & me. Lottie is the heart of our home & is most content ruling from his cat tower, surveying his domain w/ calm confidence.

Lottie was recently diagnosed with a nodule obstructing his small intestine (jejunum) and underwent surgery at BluePearl Hospital. The mass was removed and biopsied, and another suspected cancerous lesion was left in place due to surgical risk. We now await histology and anticipate oncology care for likely cancer.

Lottie is endlessly affectionate and deeply bonded to us. He follows us around, rides in a cat backpack, and naps in our laps. He cuddles our daughter, talks to us constantly, and is always up for a snack or adventure. He brings peace, laughter, and comfort wherever he goes, and he always knows when someone’s sad and finds his way to their side to help.

I had to leave my job in April for personal reasons and haven’t yet secured stable full-time work. Lottie’s medical bills have exceeded $10,000, and we can’t afford ongoing treatment. He’s my support animal and my family’s heart & we want to give him the care he deserves.
