I am Lotus and I am a 4 year old Doberman. I live with my mom at her house and I have two other step siblings (Gizmo and Beep). I broke my arm from a car that hit me when I was running back to my mom across the street. I was being naughty and I chased a cat across the street from our house. I was coming back to my mom and this car that speeding down the street hit me. I need surgery to fix my arm.

Lotus is currently in a cast. The impact from the speeding car broke her arm about the wrist. She has been given medication and has to have frequent wraps. I need to keep taking her from where I live to the UC Davis Veterinary Hospital. Lotus weights 105lbs and the front arm was broken. The surgery will cost between 8–10k including follow up appts. Amputation is the last resort due to her size.

I rescued Lotus and her buddy from an abusive environment. My plan was to rehome them both but I fell in love with her. I could feel like she needed my help when I first saw her and she stood up to lean against my leg. I was able to rehome her dog buddy and I kept her (wasn’t the plan). Now she’s my best friend. She understands me when I’m down and she loves me unconditionally. She’s love me. ❤️

I didn’t expect this to happen. I was so heartbroken and still am that she was hit and that I don’t have the means to get her arm back to normal. I work full time, yet living in the Bay Area is tough. I have given whatever I have towards the her needs and it’s not enough.
