About this campaign
My love story with Louie began soon after I suffered the loss of my Dad and my 1 1/2 year old cockapoo . Louie was listed on the humane society page . He was so tiny !
I called and said tell “Teddy” to get his bags packed I’m coming to get him after work . There sat a little pup holding a huge stuffed animal. He came and sat right in my lap.
Louie fit right into the family, soon he got a little sister and eventually a brother but he runs the show. Louie likes to sing to Jake Owen “The one that got away”. He loves lounging in the sun . Louie is very social , he graduated top of his puppy class in obedience. He is an excellent catcher and loves a good meatball. He is my heart and my soul .
We do have a small emergency fund. This surgery costs $4000.00., we have decreased funds due to COVID. Louie is such a social dog , his blindness has made him withdrawn and sad. I want to give him back his sight, he’s given me so much love in my life.
Louie was diagnosed with diabetes in June of 2020 . I am a nurse so I check his blood sugar 2x day and give insulin 2x day. Eventually we got his blood sugar under control but now he has cataracts and suddenly became blind . Being that he’s such a social dog , he’s now withdrawn. They need to remove the cataracts just like they do in people; the success rate is 98%.
Louie loves to cuddle with Mom on weekends, sleeping late and puppy kisses. He loves to go to the store with mom and interact with other people and pups. He spins in circles on floor. He’s the most loving dog and always brightens my day after a long day at hospital working. He does downward doggie yoga stretches every morning.
