About this campaign
In july of 2016, A neighbor's dog had puppies and my husband brought home a beautiful male puppy in October near my birthday. We named him Louie because i fell in love with that name for him. At that time he was the only dog we had besides farm animals. In December we added a female Australian Shepard who needed a good home and named her Roxy. Together they lived happy lives with me and my 4 kids.
My Louie was very attached to me. He was very protective of my family and our home. He would lie at the foot of my bed always watching over me. Him and Roxy had almost 2 acres to run around. And chickens and goats to watch over. Louie was friendly to other guests in my home.
Louie is special to our family because he has brought many smiles and joy to my kids and I. He has always been a very loving dog and ready to greet us with his excited aussy tail shaking whenever we came home from school, work or an outing.
On February 23rd of 2024 Louie was attacked by another unknown animal. My heart ached to see his condition. He had blood coming out of both ears. He was bleeding in other areas and because of his thick fur we couldn't tell how bad it was. We rushed him to the veterinarian, They sedated and examined him, stitched up his body wounds and told us he would need an ear. His ear canal was hanging out.
Since October of 2023 I have been on disability. Louie's initial vet bill from 2/23/24 cost $2500. I took 3 loans out to pay the fee. We were referred to the Animal Medical Center of the Antelope Valley to remove his ear and the estimate is an additional $2232.
