Luca is a 2-year-old Great Dane in North Port, FL, who needs $2,000 for Enucleation.

I have owned luca since he was born, just about 8 weeks old. I traveled to State College in Pennsylvania and now we live in the beautiful sunny state of Florida. He is thriving here, loves the sun and the weather! He is still happy and gets to go on walks, but he always has to have his daddy by his side.

Luca lives with us and his 3 other "siblings". We have great Dane, and two other Cavalier King Charles spaniels. right now he is acting the same but we can tell that his eye is definitely causing him some pain. His siblings keep a close eye on him until we are able to get him the surgery.

Luca LOVES his pillows. No matter where he goes, he always has a pillow to lay on. He loves playing outside with his siblings, and can’t go anywhere with out his “dog dad” (me). The bond between us is unbreakable. Luca is a bit clumsy, as most great danes are, and always gives us hugs.

Animal Eye Guys- We noticed Luca’s eye looked empty, almost black. The eye was extremely dilated. On Sunday, he couldn’t even open his eye and it was clouded over. We took him to a veterinary ophthalmologist where they informed us his retina was detached and he has irreversible glaucoma, causing him to be blind in that eye. Recommendation is to remove the eye. Please help in any way you can!

Last year, we lost our 4 yr old dog to an enlarged heart. I spent over $6,000 to drain fluid around her heart to give us another year with her but unfortunately she only lived 2 months after that. We weren’t expecting this with Luca which is why we are asking for help!
