Lucee is a 2-year-old Poodle mix in Sacramento, CA, who needs $2,000 for Right extracapsular repair.

We fostered our sweet Lucee about 2.5 years ago from someone we knew that couldn’t care for her anymore. We grew to love her and officially became ours after a month of having her. She’s a precious loving dog, we believe she’s Bichon Frise and Poodle mix but unsure, but her traits resemble the two breads.

Lucee loves to sleep by me even though she has a comfortable bed in my room, specifically on my pillow, she probably thinks she’s human. She is so adorable and loves to give us puppy eyes for more treats, she will do all her tricks without us saying a word which makes us laugh & our day. She’s a playful, adventurous dog who will continue to explore the backyard every day like she hadn’t before.

With the pandemic, I lost my job as a teachers assistant, I was also a student and just finished my schooling. I am currently unemployed, still looking for jobs, I started a small business to take care of myself but this injury was so sudden and I can’t afford the vet bill.

Before we had her she had a tumor on her left eye but that was taken care of before we had her. She’s had a uti but I got that taken care of,& then out of nowhere she jumped off my moms lap and tore her ccl, it’s been confirmed by a vet yesterday, She suggested surgery is the best option for our sweet Lucee, although she’s only a 20 pound dog.

She’s an interesting dog, for example she will try to eat the sprinklers, and run laps on laps until she falls down tired. We just say her name in a high pitch voice and she’ll go laps, it’s the funniest thing she does. She’ll lick you until she can’t anymore, she lovesss belly rubs and scratches by her ears!
