About this campaign
I rescued Lucky from under the hood of my neighbors car one day. My neighbor drove to my house with him on top of the engine. I named him Lucky since he survived the whole ordeal uninjured. He was a young feral kitten at the time. He has since lived with my wife and I as an indoor cat. He is the only pet we have.
Lucky loves to be held in my arms. He has been by my side through so much. Every time my wife has been hospitalized with life threatening issues, he has been there to comfort me. He sleeps at my feet most of the time. He loves to play with old shoe strings and small stuffed animals. He carries them in his mouth all over the house.
Lucky is special to me for so many reasons. He loves to drag his shoe string to me just to get me to play. That never fails to bring a smile to my face. He likes to lay on the entertainment stand to paw at my wife as she walks by, just to get extra pets. He always watches out the storm door for intruders of any kind so he can alert us.
A few days ago, he developed having trouble urinating. I took him to our vet who found crystals blocking his urine flow. They kept him overnight but were unable to help him. They sent us to the emergency clinic where he gothospitilized. His creatinine level is still extremely elevated, but the obstruction is now clear. He is at VCA Regional in Chattanooga, TN.
I am elderly and on a fixed income. My wife is disabled and is taking hemodialysis every other day. This makes every financial situation to arise very difficult to manage.
