About this campaign
Lucky has been in our family since March 2019. We gave him to our twins for their 13th birthday as we felt that was the perfect age to have a new pet. He was 7 weeks old when we got him from the breeder. He not only was a wonderful gift to my twins but for us as well. I think we were the ones blessed to get him. He has given us nothing but pure love and joy. If anything, he is our doggie soulmate!
Lucky runs the house. Every night he sleeps with one of us in our beds, under the covers (even in the summer). On the weekends we like to go to different nature preserves and go hiking. He is a great walking mate (most of the time he is dragging me). He also like to swim at the lake. His favorite place to hang out during the week when we are away is Camp Bow Wow so he can play with his friends.
The reason I am requesting help is because this past year I quit my job to go back to school. We are living on one salary and don't have the extra funds to get Lucky healthy and out of pain. He is no longer walking on his front right leg because of how much pain he is in.
Lucky started to grow a lump on his right wrist. After taking him to 2 vets and a specialist, they was determined that he has Osteosarcoma. The treatment includes amputation of the from right leg. After the leg is amputated and sent to be tested we will then know if Chemotherapy is necessary. The surgery will be preformed at Liberty Grove Animal Hospital by Dr. Michelle Hoag.
Lucky's favorite treat is to get a new bullystick or dried cow lung from the pet store. He can pretty much eat it in one evening. At night he usually gets a second wind before bed and gets the crazy "zoomies". He runs around the house like a mad dog and then passes out for the night. Lucky truly runs the house.
