About this campaign
When Meredith E. and her family adopted Lucky it was clear the adoption was a match made in heaven.
"He took a transport North and was met by a family that couldn't wait to welcome him into their home," Meredith tells Waggle. "Lucky has been a well-loved member of our family, going on hikes, running around with the kids, and playing hard. Lucky is one of the happiest dogs that I have ever met."
But recently Meredith noticed Lucky was limping. They brought him to VCA Veterinary Specialists of CT.
"A number of diagnostic tests, and a biopsy showed that the tumor growing on his hip bone was an osteochondroma. (An overgrowth of bone and cartiledge.) Our surgeon has told us that this is a treatable condition and that with his leg and part of his pelvis amputated, he should live a long and happy life," Meredith says.
After paying for all of Lucky's diagnostic care the family is having trouble affording the surgery. They love him so much and hope you will help their beloved dog.
"With Lucky only being four years old, we thought he would be with us for a long time before health issues became a problem," Meredith says. "We are in the process of starting up a home business, and this unplanned expense has been difficult for us."
Please help Lucky get his life-changing surgery.
