Lucy is a 1-year-old Boerboel in Anderson, SC, who needs $1,500 for Amputation- Canine.

My husband was given Lucy around Christmas of 2019. He brought her home and gave us her on Dec.27th 2019 and she has been apart of our family ever since. She is a Boerboel, which is a type of mastiff. She is a very large breed. as of now she is already 92lbs. at 1 year old. My son is the one who came up with the name Lucy and it just stuck. We also have 5 sugar glider(2 that were just born).

Lucy is a very fun loving dog. She is very loyal and protective over myself, my husband, and two children. We all love her to pieces, she is definitely part of the family. She is curious about our sugar gliders and others things. She loves to be outside and play with her toys. She loves to run around the yard super fast. She loves to sleep with the kids every nigh tucked in with the pillow.

With the Pandemic going on and I recently got laid off due to reduction of staff, I'm still waiting for taxes to hit as well as unemployment until I'm able to go back to work. We are in financial bind trying to get up enough money for medication as well as for the surgery.

Lucy was out playing in the yard when she got out.We went to look for her, to see her coming running back down road but when she got in yard we noticed she had been hit. We took her to Magnolia Veterinary Hospital and was told her back foot was severely hurt. We are having to get it amputated to keep her from being in pain. This is because where shes hurt it may not heal correctly and cause pain.

Lucy loves her bacon. It is her favorite treat. She loves to dig around in the dirt in the yard.Its funny but she acts like she don't like cats but if they come near her all she does is bark and gets scared. She also doesn't care too much for water either. She is goofy and she will even smile when shes happy. She makes us smile everyday.
