Lucy is a 6 year old Portuguese Water Dog in Calgary, AB, who needs $7,500 for Squamous Cell Carcinoma (Cancer).

Lucy was a fun loving farm pup just outside Edmonton, that we instantly knew we wanted to take care of. We moved to Edmonton for work and wanted a friend for our dog Copper. Lucy was the best friend and most loving puppy but, Copper was out of her playful age so, Jordan and I were lucky enough to become her play mates. She is high energy, happy, food positive and makes friends with all animals.

Our Dog Lucy has Squamous Cell Carcinoma, this was recently discovered after a trip to our local vet for bad breath, then a consultation to a dental vet regarding CUPS, then another consultation, sedated biopsy of lesions before we found out about the SCC diagnosis. This has already put a strain on us but, it is on top of 11 year old dog also being diagnosed with cancer 4 weeks prior.

As a Golden Doodle / Portuguese Water Dog (we still don't know) Lucy, loves to play, run, grab sticks, swimming is at the top of her list, meet and play with other dogs, get cuddles (she swats at your hand for more pets), share the odd crust from pizza and always be your shadow if you are home.

Both our dogs being diagnosed with cancer in the span of 6 weeks has put a financial strain on us. The costs of consultations, surgeries to remove tumors (Copper's paw), now the CT Scan and Surgery to remove the cancer from Lucy's mouth is a strain.
