Lucy is a 6-year-old Terrier mix in Dallas, TX, who needs $1,500 for urgent surgery.

It was hard to tell Lucy was a dog when she was found as a stray. She was disfigured by matted hair sloughing off from a skin infection.

The person who discovered Lucy raced her to an animal hospital that contacted Pooch Savers Rescue. The list of Lucy's ailments was long, and the rescue said they'd be her much-needed immediate lifeline!

"All you could do was shake your head," Scott B., with the nonprofit group, tells Waggle. "This dog has been roaming and foraging for months, if not years! We will not let her down."

The rescue now needs a financial lifeline to pay for all the medical care Lucy requires. She is nearly blind in one eye due to trauma. She has a large mass that needs to be removed. She has a heart murmur and requires treatment for her disfiguring skin infection.
