About this campaign
Lucy is my granddaughters puppy. She has wanted a chihuahua for a good 10 years. We were finally able to get her one and she is the center of her world. She plays with her, talks to her, sleeps with her. And Lucy loves her back, following her everywhere. In these 6 months they have become inseparable. My granddaughter has medical problems and Lucy has become her support, her confidante, her world
Lucy got sick. Wont eat or drink or play. Just sits and cries in pain. I took her to Colonial Animal Hospital where after X-rays it showed she has a blockage. The silly girl has been eating cat litter and toilet paper! The vet is trying to unblock her with barium, but no guarantee that will work. If not, it requires surgery to the tune of $4000 or more. I can’t even begin to pay that.
Lucy’s favorite human is Taylor, helping her to cope, making the migraines less severe and the anxiety a lil less bad. She also has 4 best friends of the furry kind. She runs with them and jumps and plays like she’s a big dog. It’s fun to watch her fearless self. She drags tennis balls around the house. Barks incessantly at the cat.Curls up in our laps when she’s finally tired out.
I am a retired grandmom. Social security is next to nothing, and after rent and electric and food and other bills, there is nothing left. I do instacart 7 days a week to make enough to get thru the month and provide for us. I just don’t have the money for surgery to save her
