Lucy is my person. She’s helped me through one of the most difficult seasons of life and is always there for me. After my divorce last year, I was unexpectedly given the opportunity to keep her, and I’m so glad she’s become an integral part of my life.

I discovered a mass on Lucy’s right upper jaw about a month ago and thought it was an abscess and would probably go away on its own. It’s slowly but steadily grown to where now her lip won’t go down over it. The vet said it’s likely a cancerous tumor that must be removed.

She is always excited to see me and burrows her head into my beard for head scratches. A routine-driven dog, she makes deep eye contact with me and has a thorough understanding of what’s going on around her. She’s very vocal when meeting new people, but is always friendly! And she loves giving kisses.

With the estimated expense of having this tumor removed, it was quite unexpected and I just don’t have the money to address it right away without going further into debt than I already have gone. It’s an urgent need that has to be addressed very quickly.
