Lucy is a 6-year-old Plott Hound Mix in Sherwood , AR, who needs $2,000 for Arthroscopy.

Lucy is a rescue. I’m her third home. We’ve been together for 5 years now. In the beginning it was very hard. She was quite destructive but that subsided when she was about 2. I had never heard of a plott hound before and didn’t know what to expect. She’s very sweet.

Lucy is a couch potato now. Before her injuries she was very busy. Barking at the neighbors’ dogs and people walking behind our house are her favorite things to do. I also have a cat that’s about 8. For the most part they are fine together but occasionally Lucy chases her under the bed or other furniture or up on the dryer. Lucy has never met a stranger. She’s very loving and tolerant.

She is terrified of storms and I don’t know why. She developed the fear a few years ago. She’s not always been scared and she’s not been left outside in a storm. She finds the room that’s the darkest to hide. Another thing about her is she’s so gentle with anything. I can take food or toys away from her and she doesn’t react. A real bone she’ll become very aggressive if anyone is close.

Lucy has ruptured her knee joints (equivalent to human ACL). She’s being treated with medications. They surgery is appx $3,500 per knee plus therapy Her vet is Dr Griffin at Bayean Hauk Veterinary Hospital, Sherwood AR.

I’m a single woman in my early 60’s. I have a full time job and have been actively working as a legal assistant for 39 years. I would love for Lucy to feel comfortable again. This is not about me being happy. It’s strictly for Lucy. She’s such a good girl.
