About this campaign
Lucy [Magoosey] came into my life at 8 weeks old, and I was 48—our bond transformed me into a devoted Dog Dad. She quickly became best friends with my daughter’s emotional support dog, Toby. They played together in our backyard until Toby suddenly passed away last year. Lucy was heartbroken and became depressed, losing her playful spirit and the vibrant energy that once filled our home.
Lucy’s grief led to significant weight gain, which is concerning for a small Morkie. Although prescription food helped, she developed pancreatitis and was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes, requiring daily insulin. Recently, cataracts formed in both eyes, severely impacting her quality of life. Dr. Fife at the Veterinary Eye Institute in Orlando believes cataract surgery could restore her vision.
Lucy is the heart of our family, spreading joy and love to everyone. She adores my wife and our adult children, rolling onto her back for belly rubs and snuggling on my lap. Despite her health challenges, Lucy is still very loving. Her unconditional love keeps me going through my physical struggles. We are desperate to see her quality of life and vibrant personality again.
Our family faces financial strain from my spine surgeries, leading to mounting bills. Lucy’s food, insulin, and vet care add stress, and her needed cataract surgery is beyond our means. At just 8 years old, she deserves to see again and enjoy life fully. Help Lucy see again.
