Luke is a 12-year-old Chihuahua/Terrier Mix Dog in Irvine, CA, who needs $257 for CHF.

My uncle had a liter of pups and they all passed away but Luke. I got Luke when he was 5 weeks old and he is 12years old. No other pets as they passed away at age 13 my other dog who got lung cancer. I liked the name Luke from the show One Tree Hill and that is how i named my dog. I call him Lucas also but he has been a part of my life through up and downs and also my emotional support animal.

Luke sleeps in bed with me at the end and will usually land behind me. He loves to rub his belly and stretch out on the carpet when he wants to go outside. He will even sit there when he is done and talk to get your attention. He loves to run in the house back and forth and play with either his treat or food. When he comes back in from going potty he stops runs and run in circles he is so happy.

Luke grew up with Kelso who I rescued from a shelter and they played with each other and went to park. Luke would bark at other dogs and then when the other dogs barked back , omg Kelso was huge and would overshadow those other dogs scaring them away from Luke it was so funny as other parents believed Kelso was being instigated by Luke. Luke is attached to me and gets anxiety when i leave, car too

Luke never had any medical issues other than an ear infection 8 years ago. Three and 1/2 weeks ago i saw he was struggling to breathe, took him to vet and told me he was dieing. Did blood work, xrays and then later Echocardiogram and his in congested heart failure. I have him on 5 medicines but vet needs to do another round blood work and ekg to see if he is out of congested heart failure.

I am divorced and can barely pay my rent and bills, got covid and lost my second job. I am broke and cant pay for what he needs anymore. Can you please help as the rent just went up and gas,etc
